Colorado's future is intertwined with water. CFWE is proud to be supporting the Colorado Department of Natural Resources' efforts to ensure that the interests of water users and managers, governmental and nongovernmental organizations, and citizens are addressed in local water-related decisions.
In 2006, the Colorado legislature created the Interbasin Compact Process through the Colorado Water for the 21st Century Act. The forums created, the Interbasin Compact Committee and nine Basin Roundtables, facilitate discussions on water management issues and encourage locally driven collaborative solutions.
CFWE is involved in this important work through our facilitation of the Public Education, Participation, and Outreach Workgroup of the InterbasinCompact process. The Workgroup is working to inform, involve, and educate the public on IBCC and Basin Roundtable activities.
