is the "River of Words" Poetry Contest?
An internationally renowned
poetry contest conducted in affiliation with the Library of Congress, "River of
Words" is designed to help youth explore the natural and cultural history of the
place they live, and to express what they discover through poetry and art. The
Colorado Center for the Book, and the Colorado Endowment for the Humanities,
coordinate the poetry contest for K-12 students in Colorado. For more

What
is required?
• Lesson plans are
self-taught. Although an advisor is available to answer your questions,
there are no formal course requirements.
• All participating teachers are required to fill out an evaluation form
after they have taught the lesson plans in their classroom.
